Caring for Your Curly or Textured Hair Extensions

• Washing:
  • Wash extensions gently with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for curly hair.
  • Avoid excessive rubbing or twisting.
  • Gently squeeze out excess water.
• Conditioning:
  • Apply a generous amount of deep conditioner to the hair, focusing on the ends.
  • Once or twice a week, do a deep conditioning treatment Leave in for 15-20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
• Drying:
  • Gently squeeze out excess water with a microfiber towel.
  • Avoid rubbing or wringing.
  • Air dry whenever possible.
  • If using a diffuser, use low heat and a slow, gentle motion.
• Styling:
  • Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle gently while the hair is wet.
  • Apply a leave-in conditioner and/or curl cream. 
  • Apply an oil DAILY to your extensions. Apply the oil after the leave in conditioner . Our recommendation is the Courtney Sykes Lipid Drops
  • Scrunch to encourage natural curl formation.
  • Avoid heat styling tools whenever possible. If using heat, use a heat protectant spray.
• Sleeping:
  • Wrap your hair in a silk or satin scarf or sleep on a satin pillowcase to minimize friction and prevent frizz.
  • Never EVER sleep with wet or damp hair
  • Sleep with hair in one or two loose braids
• Storage:
  • When not in use, store your extensions in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Braid or loosely plait the extensions to prevent tangles.

Important Notes:

• Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools or saltwater or pull hair up when swimming 
• Curly hair goes through an extra process when making the extensions going from straight to curly. It's important to keep the hair conditioned and oiled daily to prevent it from drying
• Do not brush your extensions when dry.
• Avoid using a brush with balls on the ends for curly hair
• Do not use Olaplex or any type of protein treatment
• Consult with your stylist for specific care instructions based on the type of extensions you have.
