Hand tied Hair Extensions
“Is my hair too thin?”
This is a question many customers ask me. I, unfortunately, have to tell them the truth if it is. However, I tell them that there’s a great solution in hand tied hair extensions.
They add great volume and length to your natural hair with minimal damage.
Hand sewn hair wefts
Hand tied hair extensions are handmade, thinner and more natural-looking tape in extensions. They are easily and painlessly sewn by beads on dry, clean hair. Depending on your care and maintenance, they can last for about 9 to 12 months.
If you wonder about the discomfort of the installation, there’s not much.
You just have to tolerate some itching for a minute or two. There may be some tension for a day or two as your scalp gets used to the extensions. But if you ask me, I feel that the itching is more psychological than physical! It’s the feeling that there’s something on your scalp that triggers the uneasiness.
Are hand tied hair extensions high on maintenance?
Well, I wouldn’t say so.
You just have to wash your hair once a week and you can dry shampoo in between if required. There’s a reason for the minimal washing and contact with water. It helps prolong the life of the extensions.
I also suggest brushing your hair two or three times a day with a boar-bristled brush. Make sure you don’t air dry your roots. However, based on your hair growth speed, you will have to have them moved up by the 7th week, or later.
You may wonder what I mean by ‘move up’.
It’s actually an easy process where we first cut the string that’s sewn to hold the extensions to your hair. We then loosen the beads and move them up and sew a new string to secure the hair in place.
These hair extensions typically last a year before needing replacement.
Are hand tied hair extensions worth it?
That’s a definite yes, which you will realize if you take a look at the benefits.
- They are healthier and more natural hair extensions than tape-ins.
- You don’t even have to worry about putting them on or taking them off every day and damaging your hair.
- Your natural hair grows better with these extensions.
- You feel so much better about your hair, and there’s less work because the extensions hold curls well.
Are hand tied hair extensions expensive?
Even considering the many benefits, hand tied extensions are rather reasonably priced.
The actual cost depends on how much you need, where you need to pay more if you need more extensions for volume.
More hair styling options
Hand tied hair wefts are especially great for fine hair because it is easily concealed. You don’t have to even work much to get the desired look. We don’t suggest it for thinning hair and for those experiencing hair loss or damaged hair.
We style your hair in such a way that you can’t even tell if you are wearing hair extensions or not! We even ensure we match the extensions to your natural hair color.
So you can see, hand tied hair extensions have many benefits over tape-ins. However, you obviously are the best person to make a choice for yourself. If you ask me for my professional advice, I suggest using hand tied extensions to increase your hair length and volume.
Though slightly more expensive than tape-ins, hand tied hair wefts are worth it.
You don’t have to tolerate any heat or glue during the installation, you have so many hair styling options, and most importantly, they last longer with the proper care and maintenance!
